Memberships
Jefferson Park Forward was formed during the fall of 2015. In that time we’ve done the following things:
- Organized and defined our organization around a coherent mission and vision statement.
- Assembled leadership and working committees to carry out our mission and vision.
- Established our organization as an incorporated not for profit organization in the State of Illinois.
- Built a robust social media presence including website, Facebook community, Twitter, EveryBlock and NextDoor.
- Reached out and engaged in the business and civic communities within Jefferson Park by promoting their events and/or hosting our meetings at local businesses.
- Conducted monthly general meetings, most of which have involved a local speaker or topic of interest.
- Conducted various social events to bring people together including two brunches, a pub crawl, a holiday lights event, and a picnic in the park.
- Raised $500 for charity.
- Conducted cleanups, plantings and a survey in an effort to make our community more livable and attractive.
- Began the conversation around how JPF can be a force for community and economic development.
- Sought out local charities in which we can work with to help make a difference for people in our community.
We’ve done all of this in the span of less than a year. And we need your help to sustain our organization – to continue to develop the programming, to implement our mission and vision and the drive of the working committees. We need your help to move Jefferson Park…forward.
Our organization costs money to run. Some of the annual expense categories include:
- JPF Website
- Marketing (t-shirts, flyers, cardstock, etc.)
- Permits, room and equipment rentals, filing fees, etc.
Membership Types
Since JPF has been founded, our Board has believed that we’ve demonstrated value in the community. And we hope you will agree. Beginning on Thursday, August 18, 2016 we will begin offering annual memberships through our website and at our general meetings. We will have three types of membership offerings:
Associate Members are memberships available to those who live outside of our community boundaries but want to participate within the JPF. Associate members can serve on working committees but are unable to run for or elect the Board of Directors. This annual membership costs $15.
Business Members are memberships available to businesses within the JPF community. We hope to cultivate a list of businesses that our members can support and in turn we will be developing opportunities for businesses to advertise to our members. Annual business memberships cost $50.
Business Members – Non-Profits are memberships available to non-profit associations within the JPF community. These memberships cost $20 annually.
Regular Members are available to residents within the JPF boundaries. Regular members can serve on working committees and can run for elected Board positions. Annual regular memberships cost $15.
